Even if gender incongruence stems from a person's autism, it doesn't matter. It's insulting to say' oh that person is neurodivergent, so their dysphoria doesn't count'. If there was a special autistic treatment that helped gender dysphoria then it would make sense, but there isn't. The treatment is the same, respect, support, gender affirming care, why is autism being allowed to become barrier to this.

You just described my experience supporting a trans family member who is AuDHD . ( I’m AuDHD non binary ) and the ableism we experience literally because they are Autistic has been unreal. It shouldn’t be the fight it is - as it stands there is a 8 year wait for a gender identity diagnosis . So many like us have had to go private because waiting 8 years is not an option . It’s very costly and disgusting that we have had to rather than go through the NHS .

It is terrible and so damaging. But we will get there through visibility and education 👍👍👍
