I get asked this question quite a lot, usually by people who think the answer is an obvious no. So let me give you the real answer.
Can men get pregnant? Of course they can.
Some men have a uterus. That’s it. That’s the biology. If you have a uterus, a sperm, and an egg, pregnancy is possible. It doesn’t matter what your gender identity is, it matters what organs you have.
This isn’t a radical idea, it’s just how reproduction works. We’ve known this for a very long time. The only thing that’s changed is that we now recognise that not everyone with a uterus is a woman, and not everyone without one is a man.
Trans men, non-binary people, and other individuals assigned female at birth may have a fully functioning uterus. Some of them want to have children. Some of them do have children. This is not new, and it is not controversial to anyone who understands basic biology.
In fact, there are real news stories, right now, of trans men who have given birth to healthy babies. These are not hypothetical situations or thought experiments. These are real families, real parents, real children.

So the next time someone asks you whether men can get pregnant, you can tell them: yes, some can. It’s not complicated. It’s not confusing. It’s biology.
The real question we should be asking is not whether it’s possible. It’s whether we’re giving those families the healthcare, the respect, and the support they deserve.
