They chose you

If you are reading this, someone you care about has recently come out as trans, and you want to support them. Maybe they told you over coffee, or in a text message, or maybe you found out through someone else. However it happened, you are here because you care and you want to get this right.

That instinct, the wanting to get it right, is everything. Hold on to it. Because the truth is, most of what your friend needs from you is not complicated. It does not require you to read a textbook or become an expert. It just requires you to keep showing up.
