GenderGP prescribes to minors after extremely short consultations
Robby Starbuck said:
“GenderGP is an online clinic that provides puberty blockers and cross sex hormones to minors, often after extremely short consultations.”
Online clinics are widely associated with speed and reduced oversight, and the phrase "extremely short consultations" echoes real regulatory concerns about remote prescribing. A viewer who has heard about telehealth shortcuts would find this plausible.
The word doing the real work there is "often", and nothing supports it. GenderGP's process includes structured questionnaires, clinical consultations, and ongoing monitoring: the same multi-stage shape that responsible gender care takes anywhere. Regulatory bodies have examined specific cases, as they do with every medical service, but a handful of investigated cases is not evidence that brief consultations are the norm across thousands of patients. The practical cost of this kind of generalisation falls on the young people and families who spent months navigating that process carefully, and who are now told, without evidence, that their care was careless.
What I said at the time:
“GenderGP is coming to America to serve the adult population.”
Trans young people and their families seeking care are stigmatised as reckless, and the clinic's entire patient population is tarred by an unsubstantiated generalisation.
