What people think
Policy decisions about trans healthcare are abstract debates about evidence and ideology. The consequences, if there are any, will show up somewhere distant, in statistics, in future research, in someone else's story.
What is actually true
They show up in court listings. A 13-year-old boy is in that list of suicides, and the NHS is implicated. I am not saying this to shock anyone. I am saying it because the people making these decisions need to understand what withdrawing care actually means in a human life, and in a human death. We are not talking about a theoretical risk. We are picking up the pieces right now.
