Whether trans people are real is still an open question, a matter of opinion, or something that reasonable people can simply disagree about. The debate, the argument goes, is genuinely 50/50.

What is actually true

Once you accept that gender incongruence exists, and it does, the rest follows naturally. Some people the world read as men are women. Some people the world read as women are men. That is not a political position; it is just what is true. The debate about trans existence has always been a distraction from the real conversation, which is about how we make sure trans people can live well.
